Customs officials of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport have recovered 20 gold bars weighing 2 kgs from a passenger coming from Malaysia.
The passenger was identified as Hashim Mollah, 35, Kazi Md Zia Uddin, joint commissioner of Dhaka customs, told the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “Customs officials recovered the bars worth about TK1 crore from an electric iron of a passenger after scanning his luggage on Saturday.”
Hashim arrived at the airport from Kuala Lumpur by Bangladesh Biman Airlines at 9am.
