A ward councilor of Tangail municipality and his wife were arrested Wednesday night on charge of yaba trading.
Sadar model police station Officer-in-Charge Golam Mostofa said police arrested the councilor Momenul Haque Nixon and his wife Liza Akter at night for yaba trading.
They had been involved with the business for a long time, he said.
A case was filed.
