Pirates have kidnapped 14 fishermen from the Bay of Bengal under Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali.
A gang of bandits of Raja Bahini swooped on two trawlers at Char Gangamati adjacent to Kuakata sea beach around 10am on Tuesday, reports UNB.
They looted fish and nets from the trawlers and fled into the sea taking 14 fishermen along with a fishing boat with them.
The pirates demanded ransom for the release of the abducted fisherman.
Sub-Inspector Sanjay Mondal of Kuakata police camp confirmed the incident.
