A child was strangled by his father in Munshiganj on Wednesday night.
The killer father, Julhas Dewan, 35, was arrested by police in connection with the incident.
Sources said in a sequel to a long-running feud with wife, Julhas Dewan,6, of Char Muktarpur area under Munshiganj Sadar upazila took his son to Dhaka for treatment on Monday.
Around 8pm on the day, he informed his wife Tania over mobile phone that Sawad went on missing from Gulistan Shopping Complex area.
Being suspicious, Tania’s father Ali Hossain lodged a general diary with Paltan model police station at night. When the suspicion was deepened, relatives of Julhas Dewan handed him over Munshiganj Sadar police station. After the arrest, Julhas confessed to the police that he had killed his son at Koilaghat area in Naraynganj.
When asked, Munshiganj police station OC Abul Khair Fakir said the body of the child was recovered from Koilaghat area in Narayanganj around 8.15pm according to the confession of the father.
The OC also said there were four cases relating to arms and drug against the drug addict Julhas Dewan. His wife Tania Begum filed a case against him in connection with the murder.
