A college student drowned in village Tamarhajibil under Boalmari upazila of Faridpur yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Salauddin Sheikh, 16, the son of Muhammad Ali Sheikh from the area. He was a first year student in Boalmari Shah Zafar Teachnical College. Locals said around 8am Salauddin drowned when he was on his way to College on a makeshift boat, locally known as Dunga, which capsized in the floodwater near his house.
