The Border Security Force (BSF) of India captured two Bangladeshi cattle traders at Chuadanga border yesterday.
The two were identified as Nobageju, 40, son of Didar Ali hailing from Damurhuda upazila’s Boroboldia village, and Jhantu Mia, 36, son of Mofiz Uddin hailing from Jibannagar upazila’s Benupur village.
Chuadanga BGB 6 Battalion’s Additional Director Anwar Jahid said some seven Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Nobageju, entered India beside Main Pillar 93 on Munshipur border at around 3am, when a team of Hatkhola BSF camp spotted and chased them.
Of them, Jhantu was caught while others managed to flee.
In another incident, some six Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Jhantu, entered India S Pillar 61/3 on Benipur border and a team of Nonaganj BSF camp found and chased them at around 5am.
Of them, Jhantu was captured while others fled. The BGB official said they lodged a protest with the BSF soon after the incident. A flag meeting at the company commander level was also held near Main Pillar 93 on Munshipur border at around 11am.
However, he said, neither of the two captured by the BSF were handed over.
