Robbers looted a house after tying up the owner and killing his wife at Maijchara village in Underchar union under Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.
Police said the robbers numbering 20 to 25 entered the house of Ahmed Patowary around 1am and tied them by ropes and kept them locket in a room.
At one stage, the robbers stabbed Bibi Hajera ,wife of Patowary as she tried to protest them. She died on the spot.
The robbers looted 15tolas gold ornaments, Tk70,000 and 3 mobile sets.
Mosharaf Hossain Tarafder, officer-in-charge of Sudharam police station confirmed the incident.
