Seven pharmacies have been fined with Tk23 thousand in total at Chandpur town.
Executive Magistrate Syeduzzaman, Runa Laila and Abdus Sadit launched the operations around 2:30pm on Sunday.
Among the pharmacies, Chandpur Medical Hall was fined with Tk5000, Janata pharmacy with TK500, Khan Pharmacy with Tk500, Patwari Pharmacy with Tk5000, Orange Pharmacy with Tk1000, Preeti Pharmacy with Tk1000 and Metro Pharmacy with Tk1000.
The pharmacies were fined for holding and selling expired drugs, Syeduzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune.
He said such campaign will be expanded in the future.
