3 to die for killing schoolboy

A district court has sentenced three persons to death on charge of their involvement in killing a schoolboy in 2007.

The death penalty recipients are Ibrahim Hossain Selim, 25, Nahid Islam Nahid, 28, and Saheb Ali, 30.

Judge Khaleda Yasmin of Gazipur District and Sessions Judge's court 2 passed the order in the presence of the accused on Thursday afternoon.

The court also sentenced another accused, Abdul Hannan to seven years' imprisonment and Tk20,000 fine.

Injamul Haque, a class VI student of Shristi Central School, went missing on October 17, 2007. Later, miscreants demanded Tk10 lakh ransom from Injamul's family.

On October 22 of the same year, Injamul's brother-in-law Mobarak Hossain filed a case against some anonymous  persons in Tongi police station.

On October 27, police and RAB personnel recovered Injamul's body from an abandoned house.
