Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have arrested three persons in connection with the killing of an Awami League leader in the capital.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of the Rapid Action Battalion's Legal and Media Wing, told the Dhaka Tribune that the RAB members conducted drives in different areas of the capital from Monday night to early Tuesday.
"Three persons were arrested during the drives over the murder of Awami League leader Jahangir Alam," he said.
Jahangir Alam, 45, was one of the president candidates of ward no-28 unit of the Awami League.
On August 9, unidentified assailants shot Jahangir near house no 204 at west Agargaon while he was getting down from a car.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
