Motijheel unit Awami League general secretary Zahidul Islam Tipu, an accused in the case of Jubo League leader Riaz Uddun Khan MIlky murder, has been sent to jail rejecting his bail petition.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Anwar Sadaat has passed the order on Wednesday.
Tipu appeared before the court in the morning seeking bail plea.
After hearing the bail plea, the court ordered to send him to jail, said Tipu’s lawyer Kazi Zillur Rahman.
On July 23, Tipu secured four weeks bail from the High Court.
On April 10, the investigation officer of the Milky murder case appealed to the court to drop the names of 10 accused including Tipu from the case.
Milky, who was the organising secretary of the Dhaka city (south) unit of Jubo League, was gunned down in the capital’s Gulshan area on July 30, 2013.
Of the accused, the RAB arrested prime accused Tarek from a hospital at Uttara hours after the killing. However, he was killed in a “shootout” with RAB members on August 1, last year.
Milky’s brother Major Rashedul Haque Khan filed the murder case with Gulshan Police Station on the day of murder.
