TK30 lakh looted in capital

Armed hoodlums have looted Tk30 lakh from a private service holder man at Dilu road in the capital’s Maghbazar area.

Five people were injured as the miscreants hurled several handmade bombs on them, reports BSS.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moshiur Rahman of Ramna police station confirmed the snatching incident.

Police also recovered two live bombs in front of the house no. 375 /A, Dilu Road, Maghbazar at about 11am.

Abul Kashem, a distributor of Akij Corporation Limited, was going to deposit the money to a nearby bank, police official said.

The muggers waylaid him and tried to snatch the money.

At one stage, they hurled handmade bombs wounding him and four other pedestrians, he said.

The victim was undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
