The police have recovered the beheaded body of an unidentified young girl in front of Idris Park in Mansurabad area under the upazila on Monday afternoon.
The police suspected that the girl might have been killed after being raped.
Gazipur Model police station Sub-Inspector Safiqul Islam said: “Acting on information, the police recovered the beheaded body from the frontal area of Idris Park in Mansurabad area. Four fingers of the left hand of the body were cut off.”
A case has been filed in this connection and the body has been sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he added.
