A mobile court has sentenced three drug peddlers to jail in Singra upazila of Natore district on Tuesday.
The convicts are Shahidul Islam Hiru, son of late Afser Ali of Singra municipality area, Zahidul Islam, son of Hajer Ali of Anchalkot village and Sree Raj Kumar Chowdhury, son of Ramadhor Chowdhury of Collegepara Moholla of Singra municipality. Assistant Commissioner (land) Rafiqul Islam has sentenced Hiru for eight months and Zahidul for one year.
Meanwhile, UNO Salma Khatun sentenced drug trader Raj Kumar for two years in jail in the afternoon.
Singra police station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said: “On information, a team from Singra police station raided different areas of the upazila and arrested the drug peddlers early Tuesday."
