Police, in a drive, have detained a person with 17,500 pieces of Yaba tablets from a house at Choitonno lane in Chittagong city on Tuesday morning.
The identity of the detainee could not be known immediately.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Chittagong Kotwali police raided a house at Choitonno lane and detained the person with 17,500 pieces of Yaba tablets around 5am.
CMP Assistant Commissioner of Kotwali Circle Shah Md Abdur Rauf said: “The detained has been kept in police custody at Kotwali police station for interrogation.”
“A case will be filed against the detainee under the Narcotics Control Act,” he said.
