Government Railway Police (GRP) in two separate drives have detained three persons including a woman with 3,160 pieces of Yaba tablets from Chittagong Railway Station area on Friday morning.
Yesterday (Friday) when they were waiting at platforms for going to Dhaka.
The arrestees, Asma Akhter, 18, Mohammad Yusuf, 22, and Belal Mia, 38, have been in the custody of GRP Outpost in Chittagong Railway Station till filing of this report.
Two cases were lodged with the outpost in these connections, GRP sources said.
Duty Officer Constable Runa Laila of GRP outpost in Chittagong Railway Station told the Dhaka Tribune that GRP personnel held Belal, who was waiting to go to Dhaka by Mahanagar Provati, from the station platform area at around 8:30am following a tip-off.
The law enforcers found 2,160 pieces of Yaba tablets from Belal's possession, he added.
Earlier, another team of the GRP outpost detained Asma and Yusuf from Old Railway Station at around 12:30am with 1,000 pieces of Yaba tablets when they were waiting at the station to go to Dhaka by a local train, said the duty officer.
