Abducted schoolgirl rescued in Chittagong

The police have rescued an abducted schoolgirl from Lohagar upazila of Chittagong on Tuesday night, three months after she went missing from Benapole in Jessore.

Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge, Benapole port police station, said: “The girl was abducted by her house tutor Firoj Biswas of Chakai village in Narail district in April. Later, her family members filed a case against Firoj.”

“Acting on a tip-off, a team of police rescued her from Chittagong district and held Firoj.”

They are now in the custody of Benapole police.
