An enlisted top terrorist of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has been detained from Chittagong city’s Akbar Shah area.
Police also seized a lighter gun and three rounds of cartridges from the possession of Nure Alam alias Nuru on Sunday morning.
Nuru, 40, is accused of 17 cases lodged with different police stations of the port city, said Tanvir Arafat, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of CMP (west zone).
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Akbar Shah police station conducted a drive in Ispahani Rail Gate area around 5am and held Nuru, he said.
Nuru will be produced before Chittagong court showing arrest in a particular case lodged with Akbar Shah police station, said Officer-in-Charge Abdul Majid.
