2,970 bottles of phensedyl recovered in Tangail

Tangail Detective Branch of police have recovered 2,970 bottles of Indian phensedyl from a privet car in Kalihati upaizla in Tangail district on Friday morning.

Ghulam Mahfeejur Rehman, officer-in-charge of Tagnail DB police, said: “Police tried to stop a Dhaka-bound privet car coming from the North Bengal region to stop near Bangabandhu Bridge area around 11:30am.”

“But the privet car violated the signal and escaped. Police fallowed the car and informed another team of police over wireless,” he said.

The OC said: “The driver and drug peddler fled leaving, the car near Semco petrol pump at Rasulpur area. Later police recovered 2,970 bottles of phensedyl from the privet car.”

A case was logged with Kalihati police station in this connection.
