A tea garden manager’s son was robbed yesterday of Tk22 lakh which was meant as salary for the tea garden workers at Goainghatupazila in Sylhet.
Police, however, could not give the name of the manager’s son immediately.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Ejaj Ahmed said the manager’s son was taking the money to Fatehpur Tea Garden about 3pm after withdrawing it from a bank at Darga Gate.
He said on the way, he came under a muggers’ attack at the city’s NayaSarak area and lost all the money which was meant to be given to the tea garden workers as salary. Deputy Commissioner Ejaj said they were investigating the incident.
