Tufan, Munna placed on two-day remand; Asha, Rumi one-day

A Bogra court has granted a two-day remand for each of the rape accused, Tufan and Munna, while one day for both Asha and Rumi in the rape and torture case filed recently.
Additional Senior Judicial Magistrate Shyam Sundar Roy gave the order on Wednesday after the accused were produced before the court with a prayer for a seven-day remand, said investigation officer of the case Abul Kalam Azad, also officer-in-charge of Bogra Sadar police station.
Kalam said along with the accused, barber Jibon Robidas, Dipu, Rupom, Jitu and Runu were also brought to the court. Later, they were sent to jail.
Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Bogra has said it will launch investigation into the source of income as well as movable and immovable properties belonged to Motin, Tufan and their family members.
ACC Assistant Director Aminul Islam said a letter has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office in the capital seeking permission for investigation.
“As soon as we get permission, we will start investigation,” added the official.
