Worker, security guard murdered in Narayanganj flour mill

A worker and a night guard of a flour mill were killed in Nitaiganj area of Narayanganj city yesterday.

Police said workers of the mill were involved with the murders.

The deceased were night guard Abdul Aziz and worker Hossain Mia.

Officer-in-Charge Manjur Quader of Narayanganj Model Thana said a blood stained body was found by another night guard inside the gate of Naina Flour Mill 2 around 4:30am.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and recovered Aziz’s body.

Later, following blood marks, police recovered the body of Hossain from the 2nd floor of the mill with injury marks on different parts of the body.

Manjur said: “The initial scenario suggests that Hossain was killed first and when Aziz tried to stop the killer from escaping, the culprits killed him too.”

Police sources said a mill worker, Taher, has been missing since the incident, making him the primary suspect.

The body was recovered around 9am and sent to Narayanganj General . Later, it was sent to hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.

According to mill owner Nahid Hasan Sujon the dead Hossain Mia, 35, was from Lakhsmipur village of Chandpur district and used to live in Gopichar area of Narayanganj.

The owner said around 10-12 workers were working at the mill during the day.

Hossain’s wife Selina Begum said she did not know of any conflict with Tarek and others.

She said Hossain had went to work around 8pm on Saturday and the duty was supposed to end at 9am.

Narayanganj Police Super Soiyon Nurul Islam said: “Police is investigating the matter. We are preparing to file a case in this regard.” He also hoped that police would be able to reveal mystery behind the killing.
