Police yesterday arrested one robber and recovered a portion of the money looted from bKash agents few months earlier in Barisal.
“Four people, including three bKash agents and one pedestrian, were injured when armed dacoits fired blanks and exploded bombs after snatched Tk60 lakh from the bKash agents near Hospital Road area of the city on February 24,” said Kotwali police station SI Chinmoy, who is investigating the two cases lodged in connection with the robbery.
Locals chased and detained the car used by the gang and lynched its driver. After interrogating the driver, police tracked the whereabouts of one of the gang members, Selim, and arrested him from Brahmanbaria.
Selim revealed the name of Hasan Jamaddar. Later, police raided the house of Jamaddar at Bakerganj upazila early yesterday and recovered Tk2 lakh of the looted money. Jamaddar managed to flee.
