A newlywed youth died after taking sexuality stimulant ayurvedic medicine in Gurudaspur upazila in Natore early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Eusuf Rehman, 24, son of Ershad Ali of village Chandrapur of Nazirpur union of the upazila. The ayurvedic practitioner went into hiding after the incident. A case was lodged with Gurudaspur police station in this connection.
Family sources and police said Eusuf went to seek advice from the ayurvedic practitioner named Kobiraz Ashraf Ali Pramanik of village Holaigari under Chamari union of Singra upazila of the district after his marriage. Ashraf advised him to take sexuality stimulant medicine.
Following the practitioner’s direction, he took the prescribed medicine early yesterday. After some time, he started to feel uneasiness and his body was sweating. Observing his situation, his family members rushed him to Natore Adhunik Sadar Hospital but he died on the way.
Faridul Islam,officer-in-charge of Gurudaspur police station confirmed the matter and said the deceased’s elder brother Abdul Gafur lodged a case accusing the ayurvedic practitioner with the police station in this connection.
Sub inspector Ekramul, the investigating officer of the case said they were trying to arrest the practitioner.
