The so-called nephew of Sirajganj 2 lawmaker Prof Dr Habib Millat Munna was prevented yesterday from entering the office premises of Roads and Highways Department with a “licensed” shotgun.
Ekramul Haque Rizvi had to leave the place with his followers. The incident took place at noon. Police visited the spot later.
Recently, followers loyal to Razib and Shahin had clash over the share of profits from business they had in the recent past. It resulted to the denouncement of MP Munna’s saying that Rizvi was “not his nephew.”
Rizvi went into hiding as a case was lodged with the local police centring the clash. However, recently he started moving with arms at the RHD office. Yesterday he was prevented at the office by the ruling party leaders and activists.
When contacted, Rizvi said: “Some addicts tried to snatch my licensed shotgun while I was entering the office. I have informed the matter to the police.”
Sadar police station OC Habibul Islam said they had not found anyone connected with such incident at the scene. Executive Engineer Moniruzzaman said he had been out of the office at that time.
