The High Court on Monday denied bail for Sajeda Khatun Sumi, the domestic help, over the murder case of a special branch officer and his wife in the capital.
Bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Gobinda Chandra Tagore passed the order in the afternoon dismissing a bail plea lodged by the defence.
The bail for Sumi might disrupt the process of investigation, the bench observed. Also, the security of Sumi might be under peril if the bail is granted.
Special Branch officer Mahfuz Rahman and his wife Swapna Begum were found dead in their house in Chamelibagh of the capital on August 16.
The couple's daughter Oishee Rahman is already under prosecution regarding involvement in this case. Sumi is the domestic help of the house.
Sumi was denied bail in Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judges Court on October 21. Defence later moved the High Court for a bail which was dismissed on Monday.
