2 youths brutally killed in city

The bodies of two youths were recovered after several days they had been killed in the capital’s Jatrabari and Darussalam Saturday.

The body of 17-year-old ShakilPranto of Harirampur in Gabtoli area was recovered at a wetland of Dweepnagar in the evening, six days after he had gone missing.

Sub-inspector Khokan Chandra Das of Darussalam police station said the body of Pranto was recovered at around 7:00pm after locals found it floating on the water.

The SI said the father of the teenager boy had filed a general diary after his missing on January 5.

The body of the boy might have been left in the wetland after he had been killed by the criminals.

The cause of the murder could not be known immediately and the killers could not be ascertained yet, he said.

The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the burnt body of another youth was recovered at Kajla in JatrabariSaturday afternoon. The burnt body of the youth also bore stab marks at different places.

Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jatrabaripolice station, said the youth might have been stabbed to death and later his body was burnt so that none could identify him.

The OC said local people first saw the body at the place and later police, on information, recovered the body and sent to the Mitford Hospital for autopsy.

“We are trying to identify the victim and his killers”, said the OC.
