Four people murdered

Three people were killed in Madaripur, Gazipur and Sirajganj in separate incidents in the last two days.

A man was found dead at the bank of Arial Khan River in Madaripur.

 The deceased was Badal Bepari, 45, of east Rasti village under sadar upazila.

In Gazipur, police recovered the body of woman from Baimail area of Gazipur Sadar Upazila yesterday morning. The deceased was Mohsina Begum, 20, an assistant operator at Tamijuddin Textile Mill in Konabari Industrial area.

Sources said Mohsina was living in a house owned by Abdul Mannan Mia in the area. Her husband Sujan Mia of Lalmonirhat district has been working in a local rod making factory.

 Sujan said they got involved in an argument on Sunday around 7pm and he went out after dinner around 8pm. He arrived the next day around 6am and called Mohsina to open the door but she didn’t reply. When he managed to enter into the house, he found the body of his wife hanging from ceiling of the room with a scarf.

Sub-Inspector of Konabari police outpost Rabiul Islam said: “A long term conflict was going on between Sujan and Mohsina over an extra-marital love affair of Sujan. They got married one year ago.”

In Sirajganj, two people were killed in separate incidents on Sunday.The deceased were Mahir Uddin, 55, a grocery shopkeeper of Railway Colony under Sirajganj municipal area and Shakil, 14, of village Panchgachi under Kazipur upazila.

Police said a group of miscreants, following previous enmity over money, stabbed Mohir and left him injured near his shop about 9pm. He died on the way to hospital. Police arrested Uzzal, 25, and Golam Hossain, 22, of the same area in connection of the killing.

Policfe said some miscreants slained Shakil on Sunday mid night and left his body in a field. Police recovered the body and sent it to Sirajganj General Hospital morgue. Abdul Waadut, uncle of the deceased, lodged a case with Kazipur police station, the OC added.
