Suspected hijacker lynched in Dhaka

The deceased is Sagor. Shahbagh OC Abu Bakkar Siddiqe said: “A group of hijackers were trying to rob people in Paltan area early Tuesday. Noticing the incident, police chased and caught them in Dhanmondi Road 3 area.” Later, angry mob beat up one of the suspected hijackers severely. He said police detained two other hijackers --Bashar and Hazrat-- while they were trying to flee scene. Of them, Hazrat received bullet injury in the incident. “Hazrat and Sagor were taken Dhaka Medical College Hospital where Sagor died,” said the OC. Meanwhile, the private car that was being used by the trio for hijacking was also seized from the spot.
