A man was killed and nine others were injured in a clash over land-related dispute at Ronikhai village in
Companyganj upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sujit Baidya, 30, son of Shetu Baidya of the village.
Witnesses said Subodh Baidya of the village and Jagesh Biswas of Betmura village of the upazila had a longstanding conflict over a piece of land.
In the morning, both groups equipped with lethal weapons locked into a clash in the area around 8:00am, leaving Sujit dead on the spot and nine others injured, reports UNB.
Of the injured, two were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while the rest were sent to Companyganj Upazila Health Complex.
