3 suspected militants held from Sirajganj

Israfil Hossain, 24, of Chaksha Dakshin Para village in the upazila, Md Ruhul Amin, son of Haji Anwar Hossain at Char Mohanpur Pashchim Para, and Md Almas Hossain, 30, son of Parbat Ali from the same Char, were activists of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), said the DB police at a press conference in the district’s Police Super’s Office.
Police Super Miraj Uddin said the detainees were preparing for committing subversive activities as per the order of JMB’s high command.
The trio got involved in militancy through Samiul alias Robin, a top-level leader of JMB, added Miraj.
But they do not hold any organizational posts, claimed the police.
There were more JMB members in Mohanpur, Badullupur, Rashidpur and several other remote villages, said Miraj.
They would be arrested soon, he asserted.
Earlier, law enforcers arrested three other suspected JMB activists from Badullupur and Rashidpur.
They were—JMB leader for southern part of the country Mahmudul Hasan alias Tanveer, Nadira Tabassum Rani and Firoj Ahmed.
