The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested four people and seized a range of narcotics during a raid on a DJ party at a resort in Gazipur, officials said.
DNC Gazipur District Office Deputy Director Md Emdadul Islam Mithun disclosed the information on Saturday night.
Acting on a tip-off, a DNC team raided a cottage named Tuberose inside the lake area of Pubail Resort Club on Friday and recovered the narcotics, he said.
The arrested individuals are Mohammad Moniruzzaman Tanjim, 29; Tushar Ahmed Nishu, 32; Mahidul Islam Rahat, 28; and Kashfia Nishat, 25.
The seized items include 21 MDMA tablets, also known as ecstasy; 24 grams of kush; 1 gram of cocaine; four bottles of foreign liquor; 20 grams of strawberry-dream-infused gummies; a digital video recorder; three iPhones; and an Oppo phone.
Based on information obtained during interrogation, Md Emdadul Islam Mithun said Tanjim, Nishu and Rahat organised the event and operated the resort under the banner of “Sonic Plus.”
He said various types of synthetic narcotics were allegedly supplied to young men and women attending the event.
According to information provided by the resort authorities, Tanjim, Nishu and Rahat had rented the club to organise the event, the DNC official said.
