A case has been filed with Savar Model Police Station over the explosion at a National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Savar, with police yet to arrest any suspects.
Police Inspector (Intelligence) Nur Mohammad of Savar Model Police Station confirmed on Tuesday morning that the case was filed against unidentified individuals late Monday night.
The plaintiffs are Salamat Ullah Rony, member secretary of the NCP's Dhaka North district unit, Md Yunus Ali, a July Movement activist, and Azharul Islam Tamim.
According to the complaint, the explosion occurred on Monday night during the NCP's previously announced July Procession rally at Tarapur Field in Savar.
Three party activists were injured in the explosion and were later taken to a hospital for treatment.
The rally was addressed by NCP Convener Nahid Islam and other central leaders.
Following the incident, the three plaintiffs went to Savar Model Police Station and filed the case.
Meanwhile, Dhaka District Superintendent of Police Shamima Parvin formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident.
The committee is headed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Jahangir Alam. Its other members are Additional Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle) Rakibul Hasan Ishan and Police Inspector (Intelligence) Nur Mohammad of Savar Model Police Station.
Nur Mohammad said: "A case has been filed against unidentified suspects. Drives are underway to arrest those involved."
