State-funded defence counsel appointed in Pallabi girl murder case

The government has appointed a state-funded defence lawyer in the murder case of a seven-year-old girl in Pallabi to ensure a fair trial.

An order in this regard was issued on Sunday by the Solicitor Wing (GP-GP Branch) of the Law and Justice Division under the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.

According to the order, the Dhaka Metropolitan Children Violence Suppression Tribunal, where the minor murder case is currently being tried, appointed Advocate Musa Kalimullah, a member of the Dhaka District Bar Association, as the state defense counsel for the accused.

The lawyer has been assigned to conduct the defense on behalf of the accused at the government’s expense under the state defense system.
