July coordinator hacked in Mohammadpur

A July coordinator named Ibrahim was indiscriminately hacked and critically injured by miscreants in the capital’s Mohammadpur area on Sunday night.

Quoting friends of the injured, sources said the attack took place after Taraweeh prayers. Ibrahim and several of his friends were having tea at a local shop when three to four miscreants arrived in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and suddenly launched an attack targeting him.

The assailants hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him with multiple deep wounds. When locals chased them, the attackers fled the scene.

Ibrahim was first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, where he received primary treatment. As his condition deteriorated, physicians advised transferring him to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), commonly known as Pongu Hospital.

He has been admitted there in critical condition and was currently undergoing treatment.
