Police recovered beheaded body of newborn baby from Itagachha area in Satkhira on Wednesday morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Sources said a youth noticed the body near a graveyard when he had gone to pick flowers in the morning, and informed the police.
The sadar police station Officer-in-charge Shahjahan Ali Khan said: “The abandoned child was killed to hide its identity.”
A general diary was filed with the sadar police station in connection to this matter.
