Operation Devil Hunt: 591 arrested on the 4th day

In the past four days, 2,865 people, including 591 in the last 24 hours, have been arrested under Operation Devil Hunt.

On Wednesday evening, AIG (Media & PR) of the Police Headquarters, Inamul Haque Sagar, confirmed this information.

He said that from Tuesday night until now, 1,686 individuals have been arrested in connection with Operation Devil Hunt and other crimes.

Among them, 591 were arrested under Operation Devil Hunt.

Additionally, 1,095 individuals were arrested based on other cases and warrants.

During this time, law enforcement also recovered one foreign pistol, one Chinese rifle (a weapon looted from the police), two LGs, four one-shooter guns, one magazine, three rounds of bullets, 17 rounds of cartridges, 20 cocktails, six knives, one sword, one hammer, one socket wrench, one pair of pliers, one sewing wrench, two iron pipes, one cutter, and three machetes, according to the police official.

Earlier, on Friday, an attack took place on students and civilians in Gazipur, resulting in multiple casualties.

One of the victims, Kashem Khan, succumbed to death on Wednesday. 

Following the incident, a high-level meeting was held with the Ministry of Home Affairs, law enforcement agencies, and other security organizations, leading to the decision to strengthen the country’s overall security measures. As part of this initiative, a special operation named Operation Devil Hunt was launched on Saturday.
