Banglalink executive shot dead in Gazipur

An executive selling Banglalink mobile top ups was shot dead allegedly by muggers in the Tongi area yesterday.

Ahmed Mostafa, 25, worked as a sales executive of Voice Marketing, which sells top ups of the private mobile phone operator. 

Local sources said a group of muggers attacked Mostafa while he was going to the Sataies area after collecting top up money from different shops. The muggers shot him and snatched the money.  

Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Tongi police station, told the Dhaka Tribune that the snatchers had shot Mostafa when he resisted.

Mostafa was taken to Tongi Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Dr Sehab Uddin, emergency doctor at Tongi Hospital, said the body had several injuries on the head and face and that he died due to excess bleeding.

The body was sent to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
