Police recovered a body of a worker from clinker silo of a cement factory in Chittagong city’s Ichhanagar area Sunday afternoon.
The deceased Azizul Haq, 45, was the worker of Diamond Cement factory where he had been working for last 12 years, said family and police sources.
Police suspecting that Azizul might have fall on the silo accidentally or someone could push him from behind.
Receiving information, Karnaphuli police recovered the dead body from the pipe of the clinker silo around 12:45pm after a three hours long attempt, said Uttam Chandra Dev, inspector of Karnaphuli police station.
Quoting Md Hanif, elder brother of the deceased, the inspector said Azizul was missing from his house since Friday.
“Sunday, when workers saw a hand at the out way of the silo, they informed police around 9:45pm and we recovered Azizul’s body,” said Inspector Uttam.
Police have been investigating the incident, he added.
The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
