Rapid Action Battalion members arrested three people with a SMG, a LMG, a foreign-made pistol, a high-powered filed glass and huge amount of bullets and magazines in Thanthania area of the district Thursday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, Rab personnel raided one Dulal’s residence in Thanthania area at 5pm and nabbed the trio while they were holding a clandestine meeting.
In the meeting, they were taking class on giving overall ideas on government arms, Rab sources told our correspondent.
Some 18 members of the gang managed to flee the scene. Of them, one left his driving license on the spot. He is Mahfuzul Islam, hailed from Jamalpur.
The arrestees are now under the custody of Rab 12.
