Three policemen of Khulna's Labanchora police station and a suspected gold smuggler have been sent to jail in a case filed in connection with gold smuggling.
The accused policemen are Sub-inspectors Mustafa, Habib and Murad while the suspected smuggler is Bej Dev.
The incident took place on Friday.
Officer-in-Charge Hasibur Rahman of Labanchora police station said that three Sub-inspectors conducted an operation in Sachibunia on Friday.
At that time, they arrested Bej Dev along with six gold bars.
Subsequently, three police officers produced Bej Dev with three bars and embezzled the three others.
Bej Dev disclosed about embezzling of three gold bars by the police officials.
Following his information, three police officials were arrested.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
Later, A khulna court ordered to send them to jail when they were produced before the court.
