Police arrested a young man from Sonagazi upazila in Feni for allegedly raping a teenage girl and keeping her hostage for 13days after abducting her.
The rape survivor girl was rescued from Mathiara area of Sadar upazila on Wednesday night and police arrested the accused youth Yasin Arafat.
The girl’s mother filed a case under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act in this connection.
Sonagazi Model police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahid Hasan, also the investigation officer of the case, confirmed the matter on Friday.
Medical test of the girl has been completed at Feni General Hospital, said police.
After arresting the accused rapist, police produced him before the court of Feni Judicial Magistrate Fatematuzzhara Muna. His statement was recorded under Section 22.
He made a confessional statement at the court.
The youth confessed that he abducted the girl with his two friends and raped the girl threatening to kill her.
Yasin’s two other associates are- Sohag Hossain, and Monir Hossain. The accused are residents of the Bishnupur area of the Chramajlishpur union of the upazila.
According to the sources of the girl’s family members, the boy used to tease the girl on her way from home to school and proposed to her to develop a love affair. The girl informed her mother about the incident. Her mother and other family members complained about this to Yasin’s family which angered him.
He became more reckless and threatened to abduct the girl.
With the help of his friends, Yasin abducted the girl on her way home from school on the afternoon of November 8.
