The police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of Constable Amirul Islam Parvez.
The arrest of Amanullah Aman, joint secretary of Chhatra Dal and former member secretary of the organization’s Dhaka University unit, was confirmed by Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime chief Additional Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Central leaders of the BNP and Chhatra Dal had instructions to break the morale of the police by attacking them police, Asaduzzaman said. "If necessary, they wanted to cause chaos in the country by killing one or more policemen."
