Miscreants have looted valuables from the house of a banker couple in New Chashara area of Fatullah in Narayanganj.
The incident occurred at the home of Adams Mao Anik, 28, son of Shah Alam, around 3 pm on Wednesday. Anik and his wife both work at IFIC Bank.
Anik lodged a complaint regarding the incident with the Fatullah police station, naming two unidentified men as the culprits.
According to the statement provided in the complaint, Anik and his wife had left their home at 8am that day.
At around 3pm, two miscreants arrived at their residence in an auto-rickshaw and gained access using a certain technique.
They proceeded to steal gold ornaments, comprising five bhories, with an estimated value of Tk 4.85 lakh.
Upon being notified by the homeowner about the theft, the police arrived at the scene and collected evidence.
Nur-e-Azam, the officer-in-charge of the police station, said that the police are working to identify the individuals responsible for the robbery.
