ACC approves charge sheets against former Milk Vita official

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved 10 separate charge sheets filed against former assistant manager of Bangladesh Milk producers’ Co-operative Union Limited, commonly known as Milk Vita, on charge of misappropriation of more than Tk14m from the provident fund of the company.

The commission approved them on Tuesday at its regular meeting, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed.

According to the case statement, M Shahiduzzaman Khan swindled Tk14.09m from the provident fund which was kept for the company officials.

While working at the head office, he collected the money on behalf of the company officials and deposited it to his joint Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) with his wife in GPO (Bangladesh Post Office), instead of depositing it to the company’s accounts.

Shahiduzzaman swindled the money in 10 phases between 1995 and 2006.

On August 6, 2006, the Milk Vita authorities filed a case with Tejgaon police station for misappropriation of Tk2.53m from the provident fund.
