At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a piece of land at Bhabanipur village, Mirzapur union, Srimangal upazila, Moulvibazar on Friday afternoon.
Locals of the village said Moksud Mia had a longstanding dispute over a piece of land with Saidur Rahman.
As a sequel to it, two groups led by the two rivals, engaged in a fierce clash at the village at about 4pm, which left 25 people injured, 14 of them critically.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, reports UNB.
Seriously injured Saidur Rahman,45, Mukit, 38, Faruk Mia, 55, Juned, 24, Mithu, 20, Liton Mia, 30, Alamgir Hossain, 45, Helal Mia, 24, Junayed Ahmad, 22, Moksud Mia, 45, Fazlu, 30, Samed Ali, 42 and Wahid Mia, 50, were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Abdullah, officer-in-charge of Srimangal police station confirmed the incident.
