An adolescent boy was killed allegedly by another boy at Mouchak market in the city on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Md Rahman, 12, son of Md Zahir.
Police quoting witnesses said Rahman, an employee of readymade garments shop “Majeda Collection” locked into an altercation with Sabuj, 12, an employee of nearby shop “Rajan-2” over a trivial matter at about 3pm.
At one stage, Sabuj beat up Rahman mercilessly; leaving him seriously injured and fled the scene.
Rahman was rushed to a local clinic and then shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the attending doctor pronounced him dead.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
