An unidentified group of men reportedly raped a 14-year-old after confining her to a room in Dhaka's Lalbagh area after she declined their romantic advances.
The group then left the girl abandoned in the TSC area of the Dhaka University campus. She was rescued by a passerby who along with police took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday.
Mahfuzul Haque, inspector at Shahbag Police Station confirmed the matter.
According to police, the victim, who is currently undergoing treatment, has not been able to speak coherently since her rescue.
Police said they were trying to identify the culprits.
