The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Mohammad Taufiqul Islam Khan, director of the Divisional Passport and Visa Office (Dhaka), on charges of corruption and concealing information in his wealth statement.
The case was filed with the commission integrated district office-1 on Monday, confirmed ACC Assistant Director Shafi Ullah.
According to the details of the case, Mohammad Taufiqul Islam Khan earned a total of Tk5.34 crore and loaned TK25 lakh.
In his wealth statement to the commission, Mohammad Taufiqul Islam Khan mentioned acquired assets worth Tk4.27 crore, including immovable assets of Tk1.04 crore and movable assets of Tk3.23 crore, the commission reported.
However, the commission also found his loan amount of Tk25 lakh. He failed to show any source for more than TK56,38,663.
