A 16-year-old girl has reportedly been gang-raped by three people after her step-father assisted the rape for money in Kulaura, Moulvibazar.
The accused are Imran Hossain, step-father of the rape survivor, Kashem Ali, 23, Arjan Ali, and Rajesh Sutradhar Pappu, 21.
In her case statement, the rape survivor said, she came to see her step-father Imran’s newborn child from Noakhali.
However, on Tuesday evening the prime accused Imran took the girl outside and offered her to the other three accused for Tk3,100.
The rape incident took place on Tuesday evening when the perpetrators forcibly took her to a certain Kadir Miah’s house in Monchhara area of the upazila and raped her in turn.
Hearing her screams, local residents informed police and we rescued the girl, said Sanak Kanti Das, officer-in-charge of Kulaura police station.
“We are investigating the incident. The prime accused Imran is on the run and we are conducting drives to arrest him,” added the OC.
